Phases of Film Production Our concern is with only three phases that is pre-production, production and post-production. The first phase that is pre-production, consists of everything important before filming. Such as, screenwriting, story boarding, casting, crew etc. The first script written has to be the overview of the story so that the producers, directors or the actors may consider it. Then is the final script which is a detailed and informative script for everyone. A storyboard is a series of drawings that articulate how every scene will compliment the camera angles and the shots. The setting of a film i.e the scenery, the props etc is called mise en scene. Only way a film will come on the big screen or any screen is when it is funded by investments for it to be made huge. You first cast actors to play roles, choose set, costume designs, scout locations. Figure out all the props for the scenes and time and schedule every scene to liking of everyone. My main interest is media and the reason i chose this subject in my A levels is because I plan on pursuing media as my career. Media is not subjected to only one category like television. Media is everywhere, in this century we depend on media. Media is a medium of communication and communication can be any way you express your thought, your opinion and are willing to share your art. I associate media with art, because any movie you see, any music you listen to is with such intricacy and detail only an artist can cater.

My name is Yumna Zia, I'm 17 years old. I study at Beaconhouse School System PECHS Campus in Karachi, Pakistan. I've just started my a levels and hoping to keep my head high these 2 years. Along with media studies i have 2 other subjects i.e Sociology and Business. The combination goes along pretty well because they are all different kind of subjects that require a different focus. The hobbies that i have equipped this year is journaling and painting. Painting is my favorite way to unwind on a weekend after a long week of work. There isn't much to say about myself except that I get work done however possible. If something is due on me I will make a 100% sure that I complete it because I don't like tasks hanging by my head.
